Within 8 weeks he had an office opened up in Kettering town centre with 1 full time and 2 part time members of staff available to offer advice, help and support to local people five days a week. He held an average of 72 Advice Surgerys a year, sent out over 15,000 letters on behalf of constituents each year and dealt with an average of 60 e-mails a day. Phil saw his role as Kettering's representative at Westminster and not Westminster's representative in Kettering.
